Evan Finally Feeding Himself

I've been trying to get Evan to feed himself for awhile now.  I finally decided the Gerber baby puffs are just too small and he doesn't quite have the motor skills to get something that small to his mouth yet.  He picks them up, but they usually end up on the floor as treats for Beau and Tara.

Now that he's crawling, he "qualifies" for some of the other Gerber Graduates snacks, and today he was able to get this one in his mouth himself.  It must have tasted pretty good - look at that grin!

Evan's First Dip in the Pool

Evan had a play date with Brynna today, and they played in the pool.  Brynna is an experienced "swimmer," but Evan had never been in a baby pool before.  He had a ball!  He must have worn himself out, because when we left to go home, he was asleep before we even got out of the neighborhood.

Visit wih Old Friends

Today, Evan and I made a day trip to Sealy, and we got to visit with a couple of my friends from high school, along with one of their children.  It was fun to catch up - I got to see old friends, and Evan made some new ones!

Evan is Crawling!!

Evan started crawling officially on Wednesday, but not enough to catch on camera.  Today, he was moving pretty good, so I got some photos.  I have a feeling that now he's going to be keeping me even busier than ever!

Fourth of July

Evan's first Fourth of July was pretty uneventful.  We spent the long weekend in Sealy with Mother (Dad was at the Carta Valley property).  On the 4th, Mother and I ate lunch at the Chinese restaurant in Sealy, and made a trip to Wal-Mart.  Evan was so tired, so I carried him for a few minutes, and he fell asleep in my arms.  When we went to check out, I had to put him down, but he was so fast asleep that he didn't even wake up!

When we got home, he was revived and ready to play.

And after a bottle, he wanted to "pet" Sugar Bear.  Doesn't it look like she enjoyed it?
